150. Meeting of the Magdeburg working group at the Barock castle, Hundisburg.
This was not only a special event for the residents: more than 70 people gathered in the early afternoon of February 27 in front of the vicarage in Hundisburg at Dünstedter Straße 3. Friedrich Förster, a pioneer in the field of non-destructive testing, was born here 100 years ago on February 13, 1908. On the initiative of DGZIP, a commemorative plaque on the house was unveiled which reminds people of the achievements of Förster. Matthias Purschke, Managing Director and Dieter Linke, leader of the Magdeburg working group, remember Förster and praised his life's work in short speeches. Purschke emphasised that it was a particular pleasure for himself and the DGZIP to honour this great local person. Dr. Förster passed away on March 29, 1999 at the age of 91. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday on this date. Förster's work is a legacy which must be kept honoured.
