Archeology

Archeology uses geomagnetism to study the ground with the aid of highly sensitive fluxgate magnetometers (Foerster probes). The probes measure the influence of the different materials hidden in the ground on the earth's magnetic field. This data is then evaluated using software and thereby make hidden traces visible again. FOERSTER offers the following devices for archeological investigations:

FEREX DLG and DLG KARTO: The FEREX DLG or DLG KARTO is an iron detector with very high sensitivity and additionally allows georeferencing and navigation, among others.

FEREX probe holders: The multi-probe holder systems were developed for large-area scanning and can either be carried or equipped with a set of wheels.

FEREX PNC: The FEREX PNC is a magnetometer network for large-area scanning on land as well as under water. The FEREX PNC probe network controller allows the creation of a network with up to 16 FEREX CON 650 probe rods.

FOERSTER MULTICAT: The robust, off-road multi-probe trailer MULTICAT is suitable for large-area scans. This makes it possible to cover an area of up to 2 hectares per hour. The data acquisition and evaluation takes place with the aid of the high-performance DATAMONITOR 3 software.

DATA2LINE BASIC and GEO: The basic software DATA2LINE is available for evaluation of the data and can be expanded with the GEO add-on module. This has additional geophysical filters.
