Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG (FOERSTER) announces that on January 1, 2021, it will acquire the Reutlingen-based company NewSonic GmbH & Co. KG. The current economic situation shows how important a broadly positioned product portfolio is. Thus, FOERSTER is expanding its business field to include "mobile hardness testing". In addition to the simultaneous integration of Magnetische Pruefanlagen GmbH, which has been part of the FOERSTER Group for many years, the acquisition of NewSonic is another important cornerstone in FOERSTER's corporate strategy.
With eight employees, NewSonic GmbH & Co. KG currently develops, produces and distributes mobile hardness measuring equipment and systems for its worldwide customers in the metal industry. After 10 years of continuous growth, the company has achieved and continuously consolidated a leading market position. In order to grow further and to better serve the market, a partner with a broader entrepreneurial structure was sought. This partner was found with FOERSTER. FOERSTER manufactures measuring and testing equipment for the non-destructive testing of metal components and semi-finished products for the metalworking, automotive supplier and aerospace industries, among others. NewSonic’s products optimally complement the product portfolio with a further testing method. With NewSonic, FOERSTER gains a company that also focuses on resilient problem-solving competence and the highest level of customer orientation, as well as sharing the same high-quality standards for its products.
NewSonic GmbH & Co. KG will initially continue as a subsidiary under the same name. The products will be offered through the proven NewSonic distribution network as well as internationally through FOERSTER.
All employees will be taken over and will be offered a long-term prospect within the FOERSTER Group in Reutlingen. The three managing directors of NewSonic will continue to be available as consultants after the takeover, thus ensuring a smooth transition of business. Everyone involved is delighted with this step and the opportunities that it opens up for both companies.
